Vikrmn.com - I had to travel to Bangalore but faced some issues in travel but found no ready made solution to these concerns. So i thought of posting a Check list, that I had thought of that time, to help others. Here it goes:

Create a complete itinerary: Before buying air ticket create itinerary of journey.
Check cheapest air ticket: Check lowest air fare availability in the market.
Book ticket: Use full and correct name as on identity card.

Online Check-in: It can save time spent in long cues. Choose your seat as per your convenience. Center line seats on both sides are generally free of charge where as corner and window seats have charges. Further Front seats and seats near wings have pre-booking charges through online check-in.
Make sure you keep a printed copy of online check-in ticket as boarding pass.
Sunrise or Sunset: This one is different but make sure you book the seat from where you can enjoy the sunset or sunrise as the case may be.
Keep a valid identity document: The valid photo identification documents allowed are:

  • Valid Passport
  • Driving License
  • Election Voter Card
  • Ration Card
  • Aadhar Card
  • PAN Card
  • Photo Identity cards issued by Government, Public and reputed Private sector organizations
Use Frequent Flyer Number before booking: Mention it in your ticket booking to avail the benefits.
Buy travel insurance: Be safe against baggage theft, flight delays or any unwanted situations as per the term and conditions.
Cabin Bag: Strolley bag 8 kg approx and a laptop bag; both are allowed at every flight.
Keep Gifts unwrapped: It's good to inspect your packet, it will be easy to access and inspect and thus, save your time at security checks.
Check flight status: Call them to confirm.
Reach airport 45 Mins before: Reach in time possibly 30 mins before check in time.
Place of International or Domestic Terminal: Delhi has T3 for International and T1 for Deomestic flights. So check the same in your city.
Check-in counters: Keep photo identity card with your ticket. Collect boarding pass.
Pick up at the destination: Check airport transfer and hotel booking at your destination.
Last but not least: Double check place of departure and destination if its one side travel. Avoid any reversals.
