'Shatabdi!' I said handing him over my bag.
10 Alone quote - Hopes May Vanish Dreams never die.
Novel authored by Vikrmn CA Vikram Verma
It was one of the best experience of my life.
'Platform no. 1?' asked Coolie and hurried me towards the back door of Metro Station. He took me through a short cut to reach there crossing 16 platforms at NDLS (New Delhi Railway Station). As we stepped up at stairs speakers banged, 'Amritsar Shatabdi! is departing now from Platform no. 1.'
Coolie looked at me. It generally takes 5 minutes to cross the bridge of 16 platforms. I had no hope of catching the train. Still I nodded him to proceed and we started running. He dragged my strolley bag like hell and i was running at a gap 12-15 steps behind him as if i would miss the train to heaven.
As we reached on the stairs atop Platform No.1 I saw frm behind the grill, the last wagon of the train was moving.
'Gayi Sir! (Gone!)' said Coolie leaving the bag handle.
'Baag! (Run)' I yelled as I reached nearby him.
We went down stairs. I ran past the coolie and started waving hand as if the train is a local bus and would stop to take me along.
It didn't. I slowed down. I was short of breath. But i kept on slogging.
'Rehne do Sir! (Leave that sir!)' yelled coolie from behind.
I was too tired to run anymore. But i kept the brisk walk on.
Out of blues, train slowed down. My eyes widened. I turned back and yelled to coolie, 'Bhaag! (Run!)'
Next moment we were again charged with happiness and started running. People standing nearby appeared to me acting as cheerleaders. I reached near the last compartment but the door there was closed. By the time I had reached second last coach train had come to a full stop. Coolie handed me over the bag and was smiling as if he had won a race which he had almost lost.
As I settled in that coach, guard offered me his seat. After 20 minutes I moved to my seat in coach 3.

It was one of the greatest experience that teaches to keep struggling till end.. till the time you give up.

I had dreamt of boarding that train though all my hopes had died.. or say vanished.
